Completed in 1997, Station 45 has been home to a wide variety of apparatus through the years. As seen here, 2020-2021 and the renovation of Station 341/HQ meant a lot of moving around for CFD apparatus. While their new signs suggest Medic, Engine and TSU, the bays have have different tenants. Engine and Medic 345 are still here, but are joined by a new Ladder 345 (right bay), Safety 304 and Battalion 304 (back left and center bays).
Ladder 345 - 2020 Pierce Enforcer (#34255) 107ft Ascendant Tiller
This apparatus entered service in September 2020 and is the first Aerial apparatus assigned to Station 345. This firehouse was chosen due to its central location on the city's southside. L-345 became only the third active Tiller truck in service in Indiana along with CFD Ladder 341 and Indianapolis Ladder 7.
TSU 345 -1995 Freightliner FL-80/Hackney - Hazmat Support
This apparatus was purchased new in 1995 and served in limited use as a Hazmat response truck. It was initially kept at Station 346, but was relocated to this more central station closer to major roadways. The truck was wrapped with new graphics in 2019. It now responds as a mixed-use Tactical Support Unit for Air, Lighting and Hazmat incidents.
Safety 304 - 2021 Ford F-250/?
This apparatus is manned each shift by the Safety & Training officer. The SO responds to all fires and major accidents. They also respond to all incidents on the interstate.
