Technical Rescue 45 - 1999 Peterbilt/Mickey (#5443/98)
Like many rescue trucks in the fire service, this rig began it's life as a Miller Lite beverage truck. The body was somewhat reconfigured and completely refurbished by BBT Industries of Leesburg FL, and then finished locally by Donley Safety. This rig was bought, refurbished, and outfitted for only $120,000, a fraction of what a brand new rig would cost. It will be the centerpiece of the newly formed Hancock County Technical Rescue Team, and responds in tandem w/ R45. It carries lumber, shoring material, and trench panels for trench rescue; an air cart with 2, 60 minute bottles, air lines, SABA packs, and a ConSpace, confined space communication system for confined space rescue; a set of suits and a shower for decon operations; along with equipment for rope and machinery rescue, plus a 5500 watt portable generator.
