Alexandria is located 46 miles north-northeast of Indianapolis in northern Madison County along IN-9. This combination department responds to 1,300 runs each year. AFD provides Fire, Rescue and ALS protection to the City of Alexandria, the Town of Orestes and all of Monroe Township. Their area including 15,000 residents and approximately 52 square miles for fire, but more than 272 for primary ALS response.
