Battalion 1 begins just northwest of downtown at Station5  and includes all of the firehouses west of Meridian Street. This battalion includes the near west and northwest sides up to the boundaries of Pike Township and Speedway. Battalion Chief 1 responds from Station 5 and commands Stations 4, 5, 12, 14, 30, 31 and 33.
