Opened in 1988, this firehouse was named in memorial of David Edwards, who was both a volunteer and career member of the Castleton VFD and Lawrence Township FD. This station and all of its apparatus were reassigned from Lawrence Township Station 333 to 28 on January 12, 2010 as part of the IFD consolidation process. It formally became and IFD house on January 1, 2011. Station 28's mostly residential district lies along the southwest side of Geist Reservoir. Station 28 regularly responds alongside the Fishers Fire Department for water rescue calls at the Reservoir.
