Engine 221 is the first-due apparatus for most fire calls. It was refurbished at RPI in 2005 to enclose the cab and add extra storage compartments onto the back of this rig. This truck then lived on with two halves going to other refurbished rigs! The cab was remounted onto their Support Truck and the body compartments were remounted onto Engine 222's HME chassis.
Engine 222 - 1996 HME/E-One/2005 RPI body/2013 RPI - 1500gpm/1000gal
This truck is an example of maximizing your older equipment. The cab, chassis and pump came from the previous white HME/E-One posted on the retired rigs page. RPI took the 2005 body off the old Kenworth E-221 and remounted it on this rig. They then completely rebuilt the pump with a new and significantly different pump panel.
Reserve Ladder 222 - 1989 Duplex/1990 Young Crusader II (#89N430)/LTI 75ft Aerial - 1250gpm/300gal
This unique apparatus previously served Miami, Florida before its purchase by CTFD in 2008. 1 of the only 3 aerials built on the a Crusader II chassis, all three were delivered to the City of Miami. These were also the last aerials Young ever built as they went out of business in 1991.
Rescue 221 - 1999 Freightliner FL-80/Ferrara Rescue Pumper (#H-1397) - 750gpm/1000gal
R-21 is the first-out apparatus for most of ECIFD's calls. This rig includes equipment for firefighting, extrication, rescue, and Hazmat responses. It also includes a PTO powered 10kw AMPS generator with tower light.
