Former Engine 221 - 1985 Kenworth/FMC Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Engine 221 is the first-due apparatus for most fire calls. It was refurbished at RPI in 2005 to enclose the cab and add extra storage compartments onto the back of this rig. This truck then lived on with two halves going to other refurbished rigs! The cab was remounted onto their Support Truck and the body compartments were remounted onto Engine 222's HME chassis.

This apparatus was purchased from Muskegon, MI in the spring of 2008 and serves as the first-due apparatus for most incidents at Station 222. Upon it's arrival CTFD installed a large 1250gal tank.

With the arrival of the HME Pumper, this apparatus was sold to Van Buren Township of Brown County in early 2008.
Ladder 221 - 1980 Duplex/Oshkosh/1981 Conestoga 85' Rear-mount platform - 2000gpm/300gal
Ladder 221 serves as the department's aerial device. It was purchased from the City of Rensselaer in 2004 and saw it's first action at a large commercial fire just days after it arrived.

This apparatus was sold to nearby German Township in 2008.
Former Ambulance 221 - 1995 Freightliner FL-70/Medtec/2007 FD
This apparatus served for a brief time as a BLS backup transport unit to Columbus Regional's ALS Ambulances within the township. It was sold to Burns Harbor FD in 2009.

Command 21-2 - 2005 Chevy Suburban 2500
Shown here as EMS-221, this rig previously served as a BLS non-transport vehicle that carried various EMS equipment for a fast response to medical emergencies. This rig now serves as the Assistant Chief's Command vehicle.
Engine 222 - 1996 HME/E-One/2005 RPI body/2013 RPI - 1500gpm/1000gal
This truck is an example of maximizing your older equipment. The cab, chassis and pump came from the previous white HME/E-One posted on the retired rigs page. RPI took the 2005 body off the old Kenworth E-221 and remounted it on this rig. They then completely rebuilt the pump with a new and significantly different pump panel.

Engine 222 is the first-due Engine Company from Station 222.
Service 221 - 1980 Mack MC/1990 Almont Heavy Rescue
This rig began it's fire service as East Chicago Rescue 1. It was purchased by CTFD in 2007 and completely refurbed by the department. It now serves as an Incident Command Center with air and rehab support truck for larger incidents.

In 2013 the body from this apparatus was remounted by RPI onto the Kenworth cabover chassis of former Engine 221.
Reserve Ladder 222 - 1989 Duplex/1990 Young Crusader II (#89N430)/LTI 75ft Aerial - 1250gpm/300gal
This unique apparatus previously served Miami, Florida before its purchase by CTFD in 2008. 1 of the only 3 aerials built on the a Crusader II chassis, all three were delivered to the City of Miami. These were also the last aerials Young ever built as they went out of business in 1991.

Rescue 221 - 1999 Freightliner FL-80/Ferrara Rescue Pumper (#H-1397) - 750gpm/1000gal
R-21 is the first-out apparatus for most of ECIFD's calls. This rig includes equipment for firefighting, extrication, rescue, and Hazmat responses. It also includes a PTO powered 10kw AMPS generator with tower light.

This apparatus originally served as the Chief's Command Vehicle, but responds to medical emergencies.
