Oakland City is located 29 miles NNE of Evansville at the crossroads of IN-57 and IN-64 in eastern Gibson County. Founded in 1855, this all-volunteer department currently includes 21 members respond to an average of 200 calls each year. OCFD provides Fire, Rescue, and medical first-responder protection to 2,500 residents within Oakland City. They frequently respond together with Columbia Township FD, but remain two separate departments.
