The Monroe Fire Protection District provides fire suppression, prevention, rescue, and emergency medical services to 77% of Monroe County from seven stations.

The Monroe Fire Protection District has seen many changes over the years. MFPD is a combination department with full time, permanent part time, PRN, and Volunteers. The department was originally known as Perry-Clear Creek Fire Protection District until 2019 when Indian Creek Township merged, and the department’s name was changed to MFPD. On January 1st, 2021 Van Buren Township, and Bloomington Township joined the Monroe Fire Protection District. MFPD also provides service to Benton, Washington, Polk and Salt Creek Townships through contracts. Benton and Washington Townships have already been approved to join the District and will officially be a part of it starting January 1st, 2022. The District covers approximately 317 square miles of Monroe County from seven stations. MFPD coverage area ranges from, residential, commercial, two large lakes, state and national forestry, and several miles of Interstate 69, and 5 other state highways. We look forward to adding photos of the new, re-numbered and re-assigned rigs as we are able.
