Parke County is located in far west-central Indiana. Parke County has 31 covered bridges and describes itself as the Covered Bridge Capital of the World. It is the site for the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival which has been held in October each year. The county seat of this rural area is the Town of Rockville. Eight fire departments and a county-wide EMS service protect the county's16,927 residents (2018) and 449 square miles.
