The Town of New Goshen is located west of Terre Haute along US-150 in western Vigo County. The Town of Sandford is located just a little further west . Originally established as the Sandford VFD, this department was taken over by New Goshen in 2013. Established in 1957, NGVFD currently has 23 volunteer members. This proud department provides Fire & Rescue protection to 37 square miles and nearly 2,400 residents near the Indiana/Illinois border.
This page is dedicated to John Schoffstall who first introduced us to New Goshen and helped us get our original pictures. A friend to many in the fire service, John passed away far too soon in April 2020. Rest in Peace 1134, we've got it from here.
